The Cliffs of Moher are located at the southwestern edge of the Burren area near Doolin. The cliffs rise 120 meters (394 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean at Hag's Head and reach their maximum height of 214 meters (702 ft) just north of O'Brien's Tower, eight kilometres away. On a clear day the Aran Islands are visible in Galway Bay, as are the valleys and hills of Connemara. On this day, we spent and hour and a half walking through the visitor's center (itself an amazing site) then walking from one side of the cliffs where the tower is located to the other side of the cliffs where we could see the tower from a distance.
